TEI Simple workshop
working with TEI Simple and its processing model
Oxford, May 27th, 2015

1. Abstract

Workshop aims to give an overview of the basic concepts of TEI Simple and supporting software, familiarize participants with syntax of TEI Simple ODD extensions essential to create customized processing models and showcase TEI Simple eXist-based work environment. We’ll be mixing presentations with practical sessions dedicated to transformations of participants' material to test if TEI Simple fits the requirements of editorial projects.

2. Aims of the Workshop

  • To introduce the concepts of TEI Simple and its processing model
  • Provide hands-on experience in using TEI Simple markup
  • Intensively test the applicability of TEI Simple scheme and processing model to real-life editorial projects
  • Discover and document necessary extensions or improvements to the TEI Simple vocabulary, processing model and implementation
  • Provide routes into more detailed information for exploration later.
